How PDFTranslate.org handles PDF uploads, HTTPS PDF links, OCR mode, credits, and translation delivery.

Security and Privacy

PDFTranslate.org supports PDF file uploads and public HTTPS PDF links for online PDF translation.

Files and links are used for upload, task status, translation processing, and download delivery. The workflow is server-side because translation tasks, OCR processing, credit usage, and translated file downloads need to be coordinated through the service.

Uploaded source PDFs are temporary. When a translation succeeds, the source PDF is deleted from our R2 storage. If a task fails, the source PDF may be retained temporarily for retry or support review.

Translated PDFs are cached in our R2 storage for up to 24 hours for download delivery. Users can delete a translated PDF earlier from the Activity page, which removes our stored copy and disables future downloads from PDFTranslate.org.

Translation Modes

Standard text translation is best for PDFs where text can be selected or copied.

OCR scan translation is best for scanned PDFs or image-only pages. The uploader shows the estimated cost before the task starts.

Accounts and Credits

You can inspect the uploader and review the estimated credit cost before translation. Creating a translation task and downloading translated files requires signing in and using credits.

Certification Claims

PDFTranslate.org does not claim formal security or privacy certification unless a real certification is published by us. We avoid unsupported security badges and describe the actual file-handling workflow instead.
