Split pages before translating

Translate only the pages that matter

Use Split PDF when a long file contains only a few pages that need translation. Enter exact ranges like 1-3, 8, or 10-12, download a smaller PDF, then translate that focused file. This can keep review simpler and helps avoid spending credits on irrelevant pages.

Translate the extracted pages

What this tool helps with

  • Extract selected page ranges from a PDF
  • Create a smaller PDF for translation
  • Use comma-separated ranges
  • Process files locally in the browser
  • Reduce unnecessary translation scope

Use cases

Prepare the right PDF before you translate

Translate selected pages

Pull only the contract clause, invoice page, abstract, appendix, or certificate that needs translation instead of uploading the entire PDF.

Share a focused excerpt

Create a smaller review file for teammates, clients, or translators without exposing pages that are not relevant to the task.

Prepare large documents

Break out important page ranges from large manuals or reports when the full file is too heavy for a quick translation review.

How to use it with PDF Translate

1

Upload one PDF

Choose the source file and check the page numbers you want to keep.

2

Enter page ranges

Use ranges such as 1-3,8,10-12. The tool creates one new PDF with those pages.

3

Translate the excerpt

Upload the smaller PDF to PDF Translate and choose standard or OCR mode based on the file type.

Privacy, limits, and review notes

  • This tool extracts selected pages into one PDF. It does not currently export every range as separate files.
  • Removing pages does not edit text inside the remaining pages.
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before browser processing can read them.

FAQ

Common questions before translation

How do I split a PDF by page range?

Upload one PDF, type the pages you want to keep, such as 1-3,8,10-12, and click Extract pages. The download contains only those pages.

Can splitting reduce translation credits?

It can help when you remove pages that do not need translation. The final cost still depends on the translated file size, page count, and selected translation mode.

Is my PDF uploaded while splitting?

No. Page extraction runs locally in your browser. Upload happens only if you later send the result to PDF Translate.

Should I split before or after OCR?

If you already know the page numbers, split first. Then use OCR translation on the smaller scanned PDF if the text is not selectable.
